the few boxers that has tested clear for Degenerative Myelopathy (DM).

Dewi is available for stud to health tested bitches. All proceeds from his
stud fees will be donated to the American Boxer Charitable Foundation.

The first time I saw a picture of Dewi, he was 15 months.  I remember thinking, WOW -- that boy is magnificent.  He was at the stage when his head was bigger than his body, but he was absolutely breath taking with an expression that I could not erase from my mind.

When I had the opportunity to purchase Dewi, I jumped at the chance to have him become a part of my family. What a delightful boy he turned out to be.  My friend Carol McGuire taught him how to show as she took him into the ring locally.  He certainly looked different, with those natural ears and head too big for that body.  But eventually his body would fill out.  There was just something special about him.

His First Win

His first win came with another friend at the end of the lead, Peter Weaver, at the Bald Eagle show in Williamsport, Pa.  What a delightful surprise to actually win a point.

My boxer friends stressed that I must hire a professional handler.  I just knew I could not send him away with a handler, so we arranged that he would go to shows during the weekends, but return home during the week.

Months before, Carol, Peter and Ginny Shames had urged me to consider having Marcelo Chagas handle him.  From the moment Marcelo met Dewi, I knew they would be a good team.  Turns out, they are a spectacular team!

The second day of their first weekend out, November 17, 2006 Dewi won a 5-point major and Best of Opposite Sex at the Eastern Boxer Club in Harrisburg PA.

In the next four weekends, he won a 2-point win, 4 reserves, two of which were majors, and a 4-point major in Bethlehem, PA under judge Ms. Sharol Candace Way.

On January 14, 2007, in just 5 weekends with Marcelo, Dewi became the
first natural-eared import American Champion by winning a 4-point major in
Fitchburg, MA under judge Ms. Susan C. Catlin.  What a thrilling five weekends!!!
